Right under our noses!

I emailed my son this morning asking if he would mind picking up an old, rusty and abused Red-eye I'd won on ebay ($20) for me since he lives about 15 miles from the seller. I just wanted something to mess with and practice cleaning techniques on.
He said, "No problem. I wish I knew you wanted an antique sewing machine. I thought I showed you the one in my garage. It's in way better condition than this. I contacted Vivian when I was cleaning out the garage a couple of months ago and she didn't want it. It was her Grandmother's. It's yours for the taking." I had no idea what model or year it was until he sent me this photo of it. |
Gulp!!!!!!!! How wonderful for you! Perhaps you could make them something in exchange?
|
LOL! Gulp, indeed!! I already planned on making a lap/couch throw for both my sons. I'm finishing up one for my daughter first.

How wonderful. I just returned from a trip to visit two of my grandchildren. I always bring a sewing machine for them to sew with. This time it was my FW that I brought. They are ages 5 and 7. My grandson, 7, sewed on paper and fabric for several hours. He loves it. My little granddaughter only sewed for about 20 minutes but she practiced putting the needle down, lifting the presser foot, turning the fabric and then putting the presser foot down again before resuming her sewing. FW are so much fun.

How sweet, Linda. I think it's the perfect machine for little ones to sew on and your grandchildren will always remember the times spent with grandma at the sewing machine.

Holy macaroni! Isn't that great!! it even has a bill with it. Fun.
|
Oh, you lucky lady! I love my FW. Your case even looks like it's in good shape.
|
Thanks, Ladies! I told him where to look for the serial number but he said he'd leave that up to me. He just wanted it out of his garage. LOL!
|
Lucky, lucky you! Have fun with it!
|
Congratulations; what a wonderful son!
