Score 1 for the Vintage Machine!

I went to WI this weekend for my granddaughter's graduation. While I was there the 201 I bought on Ebay arrived. We unpacked it (the seller did an excellant job). Set it up and tried it out. It ran perfect. But, the kids were a little critical of having an old machine when it only "just sewed".

My daughter asked me to look at her new plastic singer because the thread was bunching up and it wouldn't sew. Unfortunately, they just recently moved and couldn't find the cord to the machine. . . one plastic machine down, along with all it's fancy stitches.

When the machine first broke, DD went out and bought a new plastic Bernina. While my DD, DGD and boyfriend and I were putting a quilt together, the Bernina started to "grind". MY DDs DH decided to take it apart and see what was wrong. Another plastic machine down.

Now, my DD has two new broken plastic machines and one "old" machine . . . that's still running. HA HA HA!

Got pics to prove that there are still some young people out there that know how to run a machine. My granddaughter in the one and her, her boyfriend and my DD in the other . . . all before the plastic went kaupt.

MY DGD now wants my Featherweight.

What model Bernina is that? Are you sure it isn't a Bernette? Bernettes are known to be of lesser quality than Berninas and I can imagine how that would happen. I would have promptly brought it back to the store as disassembling would void any warranty. I love my vintage machines to death, but I wouldn't consider my newer Bernina as plastic.

I believe it's a Bernette. The only problem is she bought it from her DHs ex. No warranty :-(
