Finally figured out the pics....just had to re-size. Sooooo, Here's my Boop :D

Anyone know where to find bobbins for my baby? I have 1 that came with her, but that's it. My other metal bobbins are too tall. Thanks, Beckie

You will love your new machine - at least I love mine! It brought back a love of sewing (and sparked an interest in vintage machines which led to buying a couple more......)
Although I would prefer the metal bobbins, when I bought a package I found they were not all the same size - some would fit on the spindle to wind, others wouldn't. So I went to the plastic ones and they are all identical. I think they are the class 66 bobbins - you can check over on Sew Classic to be sure. They are readily available. The 185 is just a super little machine! |
Wow! Looking at yours makes me want to finish cleaning up my 185!! They are just the most adorable looking machines. Something about the green. It takes the same bobbin as a model 99. Jenny at Sew Classic has them or I know that I've seen them on eBay.

Adorable machine! Looks like a fun one to take to classes. Enjoy!

You want to make sure you use metal bobbins. I got mine from Jenny's too. I have this machine and it's a cutie.

Cutie! Makes me want to get mine out and sew with it. I know what you mean about carrying them around though! I'll wave at you the next time I head for Raleigh.

Oh my goodness Penny and I think she's adorable! Congratulations! We look forward to hearing how she stitches. Don

That is a cutie! Glad she was all cleaned up for you. 185 takes CLASS 66 bobbins.
http://www.sewingpartsonline.com/bob...2222-10pk.aspx (not affiliated with them...never purchased from them...only posted because it lists all the models the Class 66 bobbins can be used on) I see that Joann's sells the plastic bobbins - I would stay with metal ones - even if you have to order them online or through ebay. I see people selling machines craigslist and they don't even wipe the dust and dirt off them. . . and then they want LOTS of money for them. Those are the ones I pass on . |

The 66's at Walmart and Joann's might work but if you get them there, keep your receipt as you might just be taking them back. I could wind a bobbin on my 1928 Singer 99 with teh Singer brand 66's at Walmart, but they didn't go around in my bobbin case smoothly. They were too tight a fit to work. I ended up ordering some from Sew Classis, and was very pleased with them as they are of a good quality.
Have fun with your machine. It's cute in the green! Janis |
Those bobbins from WM make cool ear rings when they fall apart...
