Singer power and foot control for 15-91
 
I'm looking for a power and foot control for a portable Singer 15-91...I don't want one of the new ones, have already looked at those. If any one has an extra, please pm me with the price. Thanks

That looks like the one my featherweight uses.

It IS the same as your featherweight :), and most Singers of that vintage. The only thing to be careful of (and not really relevant in this particular case) is that there were 2 ways of doing this wiring:
1. where the pedal and the power cord are both attached to the plug, like the featherweights, etc. This sounds like what didi is asking for.
2. where the pedal is "hardwired" to the machine, and only the plug to the wall detaches. I like this one far less, because you almost have to put the pedal on the bed for transport, since it can't be detached. It encourages scratches to the bed. This is how my 15-91 was wired when I got it. I meant to re-wire it, but didn't get around to it before someone who was going to show it the action it deserved came for it.
didi, sometimes your local SM shop will have a used one from a machine they took in. They're not made anymore, so you have to find it used. Otherwise, it's eBay or Bonanza or someone who can help you out via PMs

Thanks, ArchaicArcane, for the info. Yes, I'm looking for #1. I have #2 for my 401a. I plugged the FW wiring into the 15-91 to see if it worked. But, of course I want the 15-91 to have her own. I don't have a SM shop near me, the closest one is 1 1/2 hr drive. Thats the pits.

Hey didi, you make a good point. The 401A is a third way of doing this wiring. The foot pedal can unplug on the 401A and be stored separately, but has a different connector than most of the other machines for that foot pedal. Interestingly, some of the other 400 series machines I have here don't have that 2 cord setup, so I wonder why they did it with the 401.

I have the same problem for Singer original parts too. There's no one close to here (probably about 3 hours for the closest, and I'm not positive about that), so I've been known to have to find parts machines for them. Sometimes a quilt shop will take machines in too?
