Singer sewing machine - HELP

I just purchased a treadle and a 66 model G7736891 machine and I need to date my machines, get manuals, and parts. Where do I go for help? I must be goggling all the wrong places.
Thanks.

Pilgrim,

Go here: { http://www.ismacs.net/singer_sewing_...-database.html } to date the machine.

And here: { http://www.singerco.com/accessories/instruction-manuals } for a free downloadable manual.

Thanks so much for the information. Found the dates but not sure about the G7736891, it says Model 15 but it doesn't show dash after it and don't know which manual I need. Any information is appreciated.

The model # is a bit more difficult to determine. You'll need to look at pictures and compare features of your machine to them.
Knowing the year of manufacturer is one step. Then you look at the stitch length control, is it a small knob that moves up and down, or a nice lever in a circular disk held on by two tiny screws.

Here is another link that "might" help some more:
{ http://www.ismacs.net/singer_sewing_...ist/index.html }

You might also post some pics of it, others that know them by sight could help then.

Also a 66 is a totally different machine than the 15. Both are full sized, both were made in 1920, but they are different.

One dead give away: Is the top tension on the front of the machine just above the needle bar, or on the face plate facing the left?

Front = 66
Face plate = 15

Pilgram, is the tension assembly on the face plate of the machine? If the tension assembly is on the face plate, you have a model 15. There are a few errors in Singer's serial number data base - it does happen, but very rarely do we see an error.

If the tension assembly is not on the face plate, but instead on the head where you 'commonly' see the tension assembly then go to this site to figure out what machine you have. http://stores.ebay.com/Sandman-Colle...-Template.html

What decal does the machine have? Is it a redeye, or lotus? Those were only used on the 66. Can you post a photo?

I know my treadle is a 66 Red Eye. I have been trying to find pictures of 15 but haven't found one yet. Will keep looking and thanks for all you help.

I think this will really help me thanks so much.

Are you sure you didn't transpose a number in your serial number? It is so easy to add or leave out a number or even read the number wrong - maybe one of your 7's is a one or a two or something?

My question:

will the ones made in the UK work with our USA voltage?????

I was told by some one from Europe that they would burn out more quickly.
