Suggestion on replacing my Motor/Light plug

I have an Aldens Zig-Zag machine. I need to replace the motor/light plug. There are several pieces broke off the back of the plug and it is just not connecting. The name on the plug is Mercury Electric Products Mfg. Co. Can anyone tell me where I can find one? I looked around on the internet, but a Google search didn't produce much. I saw a plug on e-bay listed as a "White/Necchi/Universal Sewing Machine Replacement Light/Motor 2-to-1 Plug" http://www.ebay.com/itm/White-Necchi-Universal-Sewing-Machine-Replacement-Light-Motor-2-to-1-Plug-/120961383131?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1c29dc 3adb
Would it work? Thanks.

Rachel,

Gathering from your info and the ebay listing you need the block the light and motor plugs plug into. One wire goes to the wall outlet, and the other wire goes to the foot controller.

You can go the eBay route and buy that used one which will work, or you can go to
Sew-Classic.com { http://www.shop.sew-classic.com/ } and buy brand new ones for $11.95.

Sew-Classic has many many parts and supplies for sewists. They are the go-to place for many of us.

I am going to replace the light/motor block on a Morse 4300 Fotomatic machine but can't figure out how to get the old one out! I don't see any screw holding it to the case. Do I just pry the plastic cover off? I'm afraid to do that if it comes off another way. Thanks ahead of time for any info on removing it.

This is the part that I'm talking about:

Cathy,

Mine had a screw in the middle of the light/motor box that attached it to my sewing machine box. Other than that, I don't know, because my husband was the one who removed it.
