Thanks everyone for your help. I just ordered some new slant feet from Sew Classic last week, but looks like I need to put in another order for bobbins. The ones I just bought I ordered through Nancy's Notions...they are probably similar to the others some of you have had that didn't work. I want to learn to FMQ on the 301, so I'll want to fill several bobbins at once so I can keep going and not stop too often to rewind them. At least I have 3 so I can get started.

I had the same problem with new bobbins, had one get stuck in my 301's bobbin case; thought I'd never get it out.
I only use vintage bobbins in my 301s and Featherweights. The quality of the new repro bobbins that the chain stores are poor at best, not worth what you pay for them.

if the machine cannot wind the (repo) bobbin - then there is something the matter with the bobbin not the winder....please do not wind it on a sidewinder and then put it in the bobbin case..............this probably applies to all machines.........my (6)original 301 bobbins and the ones from sew classic have been wound on the sidewinder when I do 5 or 6 for a project. The other thing is that if you have two spools of thread or are using a different color for the bobbin you can wind another bobbin as you sew, just do not disingage the wheel. Works great if you know what color you are going to need next.

this is true of the 301, never tried it on any other machine.
