Twin needles for 401A
 

Is there a special twin needle I need to use in my 401A? There are so many informed members here that I am sure someone will know. Thanks for any help you can give me.

I don't know for sure about the 401, but the 403 and the 500 don't need a twin needle...you just put two needles in side by side....

Thanks Candace and Charlee, I knew you could help me. I'll try the two needless when I return from Goldsboro, NC next week. Going there (3.5 hours away) to take care of 3 adorable grandchildren. I go there once a month, these are my son Jimmy's little ones, ages 5, 7, and 9. Does it show that I am a proud grandmother? I hope so.

Thanks Charlee and Candace, I knew you could help me. Isn't this board wonderful. I'll try the two needles when I return from Goldsboro, NC (3.5 hours from my home.) next week. I drive up there every month for a week to take care of my son's three children while his wife works nights at the hospital.

Simply put two needles in that needle holder - works great - you might want to look in the manual. They do not hand evenly - you can do decorative stitches with the setting not too wide - you don't want to break the needles.

I am trying this morning to install the two needles. Printed out those pages from the manual for guidance. When I get this thing rolling I will post pictures of the product.

The twin needles is one of the exciting features of the slant-o-matic zigzagers. You can put a different color in each needle. Very pretty stitches. You may not be able to set the length as fine as you can with one needle.

I have the 401A you do just put two needles in side by side.

Dumb question.

If you put one needle in, it seems to go in just so. Doesn't want to giggle or squirm around. Does the second needle have it's own hole, or does it share the hole with the first one?

I'll have to give this a try in the near future.
