Two for $60!

Just picked up a National and a Mason Rotary for $60 from a Houston Craig's list ad. Both seem to be in pretty good condition. Will show pictures after I get them home. If the ad is still up it was listed as antique machine $40

The one on the left is somewhat dirty so I'm not sure how good the decals are on it. Interesting - almost rubbed off decal on top says Manufactured by National Sewing Machine Co. and decal on back says "Eldredge Two Spool" It does have a needle (hope its the right one) and what appears to be a bobbin case (metal cylinder under feed dog area) which I have not yet investigated. Throat plate slide states "MFD under R. K. Hohmann patents" with list and latest patent date Sept 16th 1913. Then a list of thread sizes to needle sizes. Serial # looks like E 3297.
The Mason Rotary has bobbin (with thread, even!) in bobbin case but no needle. Throat plate slide has list with latest patent date of 1912 and A. G. Mason MFG Co Cleveland Ohio USA. Serial # FR 7107406.

Any info you knowledgeable folk can give me about my two new babies will be greatly appreciated!

You got a two spool!!!!! Welcome to the ranks - and you just got yourself one of the deals of the year!

BTW - Mason didn't actually make any of their machines - they were all made by some other company for them. I have a New Queen VS "made by" A.G. Mason - it's really a White.

That Mason looks a whole lot better than the one I picked up. Your decals have color left in them, mine are silvered. With yours I can hopefully repair mine. I was told by Whites, the Mason was only produced 1 year, 1913.

Glad to hear I got a good deal! When I saw the ad I couldn't resist. Figured it was worth investigating and when I got there and everything moved smoothly on both machines I was hooked for sure. ;) Didn't really expect them to be in such good shape. Just a bit of cleaning and a needle seems to be all that will be required other than getting manuals and learning how to use them.

Oh just looked again and that # on the Eldredge is E 32970. Didn't see the zero initially.
