Using different feet for quilting

Please tell me about which feet you use for quilting...

I have been having fun and games with my 99K. When doing binding the quilting foot (cut-out V variety) keeps missing stitches, so I have used a regular hinged foot and got good results.

Yesterday I started quilting around the edge of applique and found the ideal foot was the adjustable cording foot, which is also hinged. Also I needed to adjust the presser bar to maximum pressure. So far I have been pleased with this method. The wadding is a high quality cotton, which probably helped.

I would call that a zipper foot, just because that's what my mama called it. I seldom use the walking foot...it's too bulky and I just don't care for it. I didn't think about using the zipper foot, but instead just used the regular straight stitch foot. I'll have to try this one! :)

Now there is an idea I could have used last year! But will keep it in mind for future uses.

I use the open toe accufeed -- never thought to use the zipper foot. You can really see where you are sewing with the zipper foot. Great idea.

Your stitching is so precise and accurate ... looks like that foot is made for quilting. Even though in it's "day" I'm sure that machine quilting would have been considered something that one should not do! Oh how times have changed!!! Thanks for the up-close and personal look, Muv!

Yes, I'd say this is a zipper foot. It looks like it is working just fine. Is this your 99K with the hand wheel? I've been meaning to ask you, can any 99K have a hand wheel attached? I'm going to go look at a 99K in the morning but it has a motor and foot pedal but I wonder if I could put a hand wheel on it.
