Which vintage feet and/ or attachments do you use the most?

I have so many attachments for my vintage machines, so I decided to play with them this morning. I cleaned and lubed the 401a and tried out different cams. Lots of work changing settings and I always had to check the manual. Then it was on to the 1950 Morse Fotomatic, my grandma's machine. It has automatic zigzag, and you can change the pattern by moving the needle position and the zigzag width WHILE you are sewing. Wow! That was interesting. You just keep flipping the lever back and forth at an even pace. Then I moved to the 201, and played with the automatic zigzagger, the blind stitch attachment, and ended up making beautiful buttonholes. I have been making baby dresses so I pulled out the ruffler and some of the different feet to practice. Little featherweight stayed put today because it uses same attachments as the 201.

I love attachments, and buy them every chance I get if they're not overpriced! :)

I use the decorative cams some, but the single attachment that I probably use the most would be the rufflers... or the hemmers...

We normally just use the straight or ZZ foot with cams or built in decorative stitches.
About the only attachment I use regularly is the fabric guide that helps me make 1/4" seams.

We have lots of attachments and fancy feet, but haven't really gotten into them yet.

My 1/4" feet and darning/free motion feet are always on my machines.

I've found that the old feet/attachments work SO much better than what you buy today. I guess they were made better! Big surprise, huh?

I guess I use the ruffler & Singer adjustable hemmer the most. And I use the buttonholer a lot, too. I don't use it that often but, I was amazed at how well my binding foot works...the newer ones aren't nearly as precise.

When I sewed clothes I used the feet all the time. I miss those cams I had on my old Kenmore. (my first machine I got for my 17th birthday, sure do miss it). I think I will spend a day going threw my feet and playing with them.

I'm like Donna...when I sewed clothes, I used attachments all the time. Now that it's (almost) all quilting. no need for attachments except walking foot or even feed attachment. My machines are equipped with a ZZ foot where applicable, otherwise straight foot or as noted above.
