That is one beautiful machine. If it were mine, there is no way I'd give it up. I don't understand people.

I'd probably keep it also, but for most folks, it is just an impractical piece of furniture that can't be used for anything due to the coffin top.

Not sure I would use olive oil on it either.

I had wondered about the olive oil on the wood because it can become rancid. The Howard's stuff would seem to be a better choice for me.
I also would keep that beautiful sewing machine but then I collect them.
