i would clean off the gum with alcohol then use "sewer's aid" on your needle often, it will help a lot.
I was told we could put sewer’s aid on the felt pad on your tension gauge. You can get this at most fabric stores. You can also put it on your 3 or 4 lines of it on your cone of thread to make it sew better. When I went to Houston the quilt frog was there selling notions. I bought a 32oz jar of silicone.
They said you could dip your thread in it for better coverage. This is what you can add to your oil. It dries out fast. And it is flammable. I don’t know how it will ship. I also wonder if it should be in a metal can.
I also ordered a can of silicone spray from Brewers through my dealer to spray thread cones.
The silicone does not discolor thread of fabric.

I bet they kind of have a turn to them or something. Kenmore sewing machine cabinets use those. I was thinking I had a set but now I'm wondering if I gave that cabinet to someone a couple weeks ago. So much junk has come and gone in the last month... I can't keep track. Try looking for a cheap $10 cabinet with the underneath hinges. I'll look at what I have over at the shop. I may have a set in one of the boxes of junk. I KNOW I have the flat ones off a cabinet some Egor couldn't figure out how to get the machine out with out massacring the table.

Tomorrow poor miserable little Wilbur is getting his tonsils out. You all can pray for him - 2 concerns - that he will come out of anesthesia real well and he so doesn't need to hemorrhage. DD had hers out so I have a pretty good idea how it will go. Some Christmas eh? It was when they could schedule and have all the stars line up. We got him a rocking horse and Christmas is waiting an extra month. DD has a newborn as well as 3 older girls. Grandpa (DH) says we are going to wear our 'Grumpy' shirts and at least show up on Christmas Day with breakfast and stockings for the kids.

I'll be out this morning, but this afternoon I'll wrestle my 130 out of the cabinet and take pictures of the hinge for you-they're definitely different than the usual Singer hinges. The screw on the botton is just a grub screw, but if I remember right, it's threaded in metric.

Geeze, poor little Wilbur he probably won't know the difference if Christmas is the 25 or at a later date, but what about the older kids? I feel for them, this will mess up their Christmas! Miriam, I doubt you have to wait an extra month, both my kids had their tonsils and adnoids (spelling?) out on the same day; and a day later they were sitting up eating popsicles! I bet you guys can have your regular Christmas - little ones bounce back so fast! Anyway, I am glad GM and GP will be there to help!

Thank you, that would help tremendously as we don't know what the hinge pins/screws look like. My DH is really good at refinishing cabinets, but he is very reluctant to start cutting/drilling on this cabinet. He is afraid he will mess it up - he wants me to get the correct hardware to start with! Geeze!!!! Looking for hardware for a Pfaff cabinet is like looking for a needle in a haystake - at least that is what I am thinking!

Monica, I can't believe you haven't mentioned the mini TOGA next Tuesday the 27th? Cathy says you are bringing your Standard to demonstrate all those fancy attachments you have been telling us about? Anyone else coming to the TOGA in Roseville on Tuesday the 27?

Maybe, Cathy has my hinge/pins screws! I somehow doubt it, as she doesn't have many cabinets - just tons of machines, parts, cams!

Poor Wilbur. I had my tonsils out about 6 years ago. NOT fun as an adult and I did hemmorrhage. The doctors are ready for any sort of hiccup and I did fine....he will too. The good thing is he will recover and have much less pain than I did as an adult. I wish mine had been removed at his age!

I remember having my tonsils and adenoids out at age 5. Didn't have any problems with it. Seems it is much better to have them out when you are young. The younger ones seem to be able to handle it much better. Good luck to Wilbur.
