Thanks everyone for the anniversary wishes! It was a good one...I have a good man that does his best to keep me happy! :)
Skip, I heard that not many of the post war Köhler machines made it out of East Germany. Just in my imagination, those that did most likely went out through West Berlin, as there just wasn't a lot of post-war export from the occupied East Germany. |

Redo of the Viking and cabinet. What a mess it was but now cleaner, rewired, and sews beautifully. Took off all the crack varnish on the cabinet, left it natural as it was originally and sealed the wood with tung oil.
Thanks for all the help the last couple of days for this little cutie. Had no idea on the knee control...low and behold right in the top cover. Cleaned up, lubed and oiled, sews beautiful stitches. Anyone know where I can find a manual? |
here is a cute little child's treadle with a hefty price. this is my 1st time seeing a child's treadle version.

WOW I'm drooling over that handsome Viking. Never seen one like that before in my wanders of the internet. You rewired it, but looks like it could be treadle too- if you have treadle. That's a handsome machine!!!! You did a beautiful job cleaning up the cabinet. I just love the look of the this cabinet and wood. How well does that Viking sew? It kind of has the look of the dark, green Berninas. Thanks for posting the photos. That cutie machine is a Singer 99, correct? Here is link to manual for a 99 from Sew-Classic, just scrool to bottom of page: http://blog.sew-classic.com/2008/11/...ne-review.aspx |

If you put different color threads in the bobbin and top of machine, it makes it easier to figure out which tension needs adjusting.
Now, why didn't I think of that. I am having trouble with my FW's tension. I will have to try that. Thanks. |
Here's a very nice, clean Davis NVF in a nice cabinet in MO...at only .99, no reserve, 9 days to go on the auction. Someone could get a great deal on this machine!!
