It's truly a featherweight, just not a vintage featherweight...
For $8 you didn't get hurt....how does it stitch, have you tried it yet?

Billy, started cleaning my 1913 treddle sewing machine today but hubby had a question maybe you can answer.. Would it be better just to clean everything up as best we can and just refinish the cabinet or leave the cabinet as is. (ugly lol). I know by refinishing it will lose value but I just had to have it. I do need a belt and a bobbin case and bobbin.... So far I have just put oil on it to take off some of the rust and lossen parts up.. It has no decals on it so have to get those too.-Any help you can give me I would appreciate. Still trying to get a picture of her (I call it a her lol)

It's not necessarily true that refinishing a cabinet takes away value, but you do want to be careful. What kind of "ugly" is it? What kind of shape is the veneer in? Are all of the pieces and parts there?

It has a beautiful stitch, but it is a bit noisy. I have not had a chance to clean and oil it, though, so that might change. I have a Bernina and a new Singer Confidence Quilter, so am not counting on this little one for much of anything... I just wanted bragging rights that I had purchased a featherweight!!, which is technically true, I guess...

Hi, I just posted some pictures in a different thread I started of the new (old) treasure I just got. I am not having much luck figuring what she is and all that. I would love some help and was told this is the place to come for vintage sewing machine info.
