I am probably the oldest posting here and I took shop in Jr High. I didn't like study hall so I talked the principal into letting me take shop and home ec both.

I know that two of my guys make their own RenFaire costumes and a third has done some sewing. They all have bought their own vintage yard sale machines. And one of them has done some repair on them as well. The other two and my daughter not so much. She has made a couple of things for herself at various times but even though she asked for a machine I don't think it's been out of the box yet.
DGS wants me to sew it still, but he wants to do all the choosing of what for me to make ;) and he has been exploring any machine that's out and wanting to thread it so I figure he will be making his own pillowcases before long.

I haven't posted in a long time. First things first---Charlee enjoy the GBaby now because they grow up way way to fast!!! I have been playing with my 15-91 again today trying to figure out why it hangs up on the bobbin case. I so want to FMQ with it because it has a beautiful stitch both front and back. I've checked that I have it threaded right, the needle is the right one and it is in the right way plus threaded from right to left. Sometimes it will sew for just a few stitches before it hangs up and then sometimes it will go for a couple of feet or more. Maybe this is the reason the guy sold it to me for $20.00!!

Am posting a picture of the bobbin with yarn (so maybe you can see it) laying on it and wrapped around the finger that sticks out. This is what it looks like after it locks up. If anyone can give me an idea of what to try next I would appreciate it. Thanks! I've also messed with the upper tension which seems to make no difference.

I finished restoring a 301 today and posted a before and an after pic here. http://www.quiltingboard.com/vintage...30994-128.html The machine ran well when I got it but it has so many little seams and corners in it that trap dirt, it took forever to get it clean enough for me to be happy. The upper tension must have been in a fight. It was bent pretty good. It is all fixed and all back together now.

Have you checked for burrs? Is the bobbin tension spring ok?

Anybody out there? Anybody need drawers??? Looks like a mother lode...

Your daughter and my daughter would have a blast. My daughter has done all kinds of stuff on the car. She used to follow her daddy around and make him show her how to do things. I don't think she has torn down the engine but she has replaced the timing belt and brakes. She does her own spark plugs and oil changes, too.

One time the two of us were out and the car had a flat tire. We looked at each other and figured we were up to changing it. We did. About the time we jacked it down some man came along and asked us if we needed help. NOPE. We got it. Well we jacked it down all the way and the spare was flat too. No cure for that one. DH was in the dog house a while though.
