Thank you Dunster, I will bookmark the website addy. Turns out this machine is older than my white featherweight! Now I have two vintage machines (and an antique Seidel & Naumann)

But how can it be vintage, when it's younger than I am???

Sadly, it's younger than me too - I thought the 'official' way of labelling these things is that over 100 years is Antique, and between 100 years and 40 years is Vintage.

Lacelady, what am I missing? I pulled up the site and can see where you get the allotted number of machines, where they were made, and year they were made, but how do you get the Month and day?

What am I not seeing?

Singer 301A with case and looks like some basic attachments. They are asking $100. What you all think of that price?

On that site, click either the dbl or single digit prefix. It should bring up a page with dates. In Grey box with Red writing, below is prefixes in Red. Click on whichever fits your machine. It brings up pages with the month & date as well as the year.

Thanks to Jane and Darcene for being so nice to this old man quilter on this board, I now have a complete set of attachments for my back mounted feet(66-1) I am using everyone of them or at least learning LOL. Thanks Ladies. Glenn

Glenn, if you have a complete set then the majority of the thanks must go to Jane.....I was only responsible for one foot....I hope that you are enjoying the machine and learning all about the attachments and all that you can do with them.

It's really great that you have a complete set of attachments. I acquired a box full of various feet and "do dads" a couple of weeks ago and have no idea what many of them are for. Would you be willing to post some pictures of your set and let us know what they are used for? I was hoping to do some investigating but I haven't had the time. Started a new quilt (NY beauty - paper peiced) and it's taking all my extra time : )

I will be happy to post photos of the attachments and explain what they are used for but will be tomorrow, my camera is being recharged at the moment. You will most likely have a hemmer, ruffler, binder, quilt foot with guide bar and maybe a wide hemmer guide and if youare lucky it will have a bias cutting quide. Can't wait for you to post pics of your quilt. Glenn
