Wertheim Sewing Machine
 

Can anyone help me find the serial number data base (is there one) for the Wertheim sewing machines? Have my eye on one and would like to date it. It's sitting in an Op Shop in a disgusting state with the sale price of $149.00 AUS! Wasn't allowed to take photos......it's a handcrank with a low bobbin wind. The crank aint moving, the wheel only moves a titch, and it has this weird bullet shuttle that's open on one side of it. It's case must have been beautiful once but it's all cracked and a bit peel-ish though I reckon a good clean and polish would hear it singing ahhhhhhhhhh! There is no way in this world I'm paying that much money....offered the shop less and they showed me the door.:( Still, for interest sakes, I'd like to date it.
