What makes a sewing machine "vintage"?

My sewing group at church has several pretty old sewing machines donated over the years by families. What qualifies as a "vintage" sewing machine? If I could sell them to make money for thread, etc. for our blanket ministry, that would be great. What do I need to know first?

Vintage machines are plentiful. It would probably be more helpful to you to google the individual models of sewing machines. Generally, any machine about 50 years old or older is vintage. If they are in pristine, working condition they will of course be worth more than a machine missing parts and that is banged up.
