First off does anyone have one of these machines? I am getting my moms, which needs some TLC to get it to run smooth. Can't remember when the last time she had it in the shop.;) Anyway, what I would like to know is, is this machine worth the money to invest in to get it running better? :thumbup::thumbdown: The *body* is in excellent shape. She had it in a cabinet all it's life.:) Thanks

Well, no I don't have one, but I do have my mom's old machine and I've rebuilt the case and went to quite an expense to replace the motor with an exact duplicate ( only it works) and use it often. It's just a 15 clone, was it worth it .... yes it was.

Most of the old machines if they are mechanical can be cleaned, lubed and serviced by the owners. No need to take them to a store and listen to them try to hard sell you on a new plastic computerized piece of junque.

Now, for us that don't know what your machine looks like, can you post us a picture of it?

I Google searched and from the fuzzy pics I saw, I think your machine is all mechanical with several knobs on the front. Yes it is worth the money to fix it. If it doesn't have a computer in it or hard to find broken plastic parts it is worth the time and effort to fix it up. The White machines aren't as popular as the Singers or Kenmore machines but they are a high quality machine from looking at a few. Clean out any lint you can find. Then get a little bottle of Tri-Flow oil and oil all the little moving parts from top to bottom. The Tri-Flow works magic. I think you will be happy sewing with it once it is working well.

Okay, here I am again, a day behind everyone else.....In case any of you review these writings after you submit them; I am looking for Tri-Flo oil--my husband went into about half dozen Advance and Auto Zones Saturday, and every clerk looked at him with big eyes and said "huh" when he asked if they had Tri-Flo oil. Then today, while my fce ladies and I were out on a Ladies' Day jaunt, I stopped in Jo Ann's and got the same look and answer from the lady at the sewing machine selling area (Husq-Vikings) and when I ambled on over to the display rack of sewing machine needles, etc. and all I found was two clear oils. Bought both of them, but they don't seem to be Tri-Flo. And it is my feeling that a bicycle repair shop is nowhere to be found here in Middle TN. So now, what?????
