Check this out! It looks like a tricked out 15 series! In case he deletes the ad I copied the photos to include here...

The label says it's a Johnson ruffling machine.

That is a good price I wish I lived closer, though I don't know what I would do with a ruffling machine. I don't have little girls to sew ruffles for and I am waaaaay past the country curtain look of the 80's for my decor, that is, if I had a decor.

Have you ever seen the on-line store Anthropology with the updated ruffle curtains? They're beautiful.

First I have seen or heard of. Shame it can't be used as a regular sewing machine. Could it be modified to just sew?

No I have not. I'll have to drop in and check them out. I like ruffles but the 80's country style was a bit much. Those suckers were so heavy they'd pull regular rods out of the wall. We had to make sure there was dead wood in the walls before we would guarantee an installation job. And I sure don't miss ironing them to get ready to hang!

There are so many other machines available it isn't worth the trouble to modify it to sew regularly. It is very good at what it does.

Must have been a commercial machine...
