Default Question about Bernina Bernette 75

I know it isn't a real "vintage" machine but it is out of production and I have a chance at one. I've tried Google, nothing worth finding, and have a manual downloading from Bernina.

But other than it's white and mechanical I know nothing about it.

The manual covers the Bernette 50, 60, 70 and 75, does anyone here have one they would be willing to comment on? Good, bad, great, indifferent, so-so ..... and like that.

A quick Bing search resulted in some less than favorable reviews. May have been made in Taiwan by Brother, and really have nothing in common with Bernina machines.

I probably wouldn't pay too much for one.

Bernette is not made by Bernina, but for Bernina and is not a machine that is generally respected. They sort of ride the coat tails of the Bernina brand. Like Mark, it would have to be a very low price to get my attention.

Call the "Peace and Applique" shop in Rochester, IL and see when the repairman will be in. He is the owner's husband. They are from Bloomington and commute every day, very nice and helpful. I have not heard any good things about that particular model. Yes, it is "Peace and Applique". They sell and repair Bernina. You would love their shop with thousands of bolts of great quality fabrics. One of my favorite shops ever. He will give valid information.

    Donna,

I'll tell my wife about it. I'll bet she checks it out next time she's in the area. I'll call them about the machine if I remember.
