Questions about a Chandler machine?

Questions about a Chandler machine?
Hi...my neighbor repairs leather and he bought a Chandler, model 1971. It is missing the shuttle body.He keeps calling this machine a "patcher"?? I am thinking he means the old machines for putting soles on boots? I am out of my league, here!!!!
I have found the Chandler web site, but they only list parts for 3 machines, and none are his. I can't even find a pic of this machine anywhere on the net??? Anyone have any ideas, or can point me to a place where I can find out? Thanks, Donna
