Thank you Monica and Jean(nanna-up-north), I really like my vintage machines, they are so well made and work like they should. I've been using a treadle since 2007, Featherweights since 1998.

The more I use the White rotary treadle, the better I like using it; was an electric portable when I first got it. I have 5 working treadles, 3 are Singers(6 heads),1 Pfaff and 1 White Rotary. Lately I've been using the White the most so I can get used to using it, everything is backwards from the Singers. The hand wheel rotates away from the operator, it threads quite differently; nothing was intuitive. It would be great to have a darning, walking and 1/4" foot for the White, but that isn't possible because of how the feet mount. I learned that the White Rotary uses a 15x1 needle that is available everywhere. I had to find have someone send me photos of the thread path, how the bobbin threads, the bobbin winder is very different. Now that I understand how to thread it, I really like using it. I recently found 10 vintage bobbins for the White on Ebay, the auction description said they were Singer bobbins, so glad nobody else bid on them.
I'm very happy that the person who gave me the machine had cared for it; had been in her family since 1917. I only needed to clean out gobs of lint and give her a good drink of oil and she just purred, easiest machine to clean up ever.

It was sorta warm when I took the quilt picture, it was 38 and breezy. Thankfully we don't often get snow, sleet or ice, however this Winter has had all 3, granted it doesn't stay long. When I got up at 8am today, it was 25. brrr

I am taking a quilting class (my first one) and today I made a doll size replica of the quilt I am making in class out of the scraps. We haven't gotten to the actual quilting part yet but I am pleased with the piecing so far. I made this on my featherweight.

Nice doll quilt! I like the turquoise fabric. Please post a photo of the finished quilt.

Sharon, I understand the feeling of treadling a machine where the hand-wheel rotates backwards from what you are use to using. The Standard machine that I own is similar to the White in that wheel rotates away from you. It's good to see that you are enjoying the White. -Monica

Thank you, Glenn! My son and his gf were just thrilled when they saw the finished quilt; their baby is due in the next month or so.

Thank you vintagemotif, purplefiend and Glenn. I am ridiculously excited to bring my featherweight to my class tomorrow. It's our first class bringing machines with us.
I will absolutely share pictures when the doll quilt and larger one are both finished.

Very cute quilt, thrillhouse. ... lovely colors. I know you'll enjoy this quilting addiction we all have. And using your FW.... well, good for you. I use my FW for most of my piecing as well. ... just love FWs. And welcome to QB and our vintage spot.

I finally finished the denim quilt as my thank you gift to Cathy for giving me her boxes of used jeans. I used my Two Spools for piecing, Davis NVF for quilting and attaching the binding, and Singer 224 for the decorative stitching to finish off the binding.
