I've been scrolling through all these wonderful machines and beautiful quilts & thought I'd share a little! My go-to machine that I make everything on is my 32 year old riccar that is a hand-me-down from my mum. I don't think it qualifies as antique but it's certainly vintage! Halfway through making this quilt it took ill & had to go off to the sewing machine hospital so I switched to my 'spare', my late grandmother's pfaff 30, which I think is early 1950's. I'm pretty sure it hasn't had so much as a service in the 20 years my mum & I have had (actually, maybe I should get on that...) it but it still works perfectly. The quilt is log cabin blocks made of 30's fabrics from a jelly roll with others added from stash, hand quilted. And the happy ending is my riccar was saved after a good service & now works perfectly again, hopefully it will for many years to come!

Hi and welcome! Your quilt is very pretty. Wow! Lots of work went into making the log cabins blocks for this pinwheel quilt. Most folks these days just use solid fabrics for their pinwheel quilts, but I love the look of your quilt with the log cabin blocks set into a pinwheel pattern, since it adds to the vintage look. Nicely done!

It's hard to really tell the scale, but those pieces look pretty narrow. Beautiful effect with the pinwheels/log cabin.

Thankyou! Each half a log cabin is made of one jelly roll strip cut in half lengthwise, ie 2 1/2", so the finished width of each strip is 3/4". Once I got into the swing of the strip piecing they came together really quickly. I can't remember the overall size but it's on my double bed!

Finally finished another baby quilt. I told the girls at work if anyone else becomes pregnant, I'm putting all their names in a hat and having a raffle. I can't keep up! (Currently have 4 babies on the way there, plus this one).

Pieced on the FW, straight line quilting on the 15-91.

Bennett, that's a darling pattern in perfect fabrics for it. Very nice.

victoriaplum, working with such small pieces amazes me. Your quilt is lovely.

It's pretty! Looks to be a scrappy with half squares. I love this layout!

I finally completed the Christmas quilt that gave me a headache when I used the spray baste. After numerous washings of all the materials to remove the chemicals from the spray baste, I hand basted and machine quilted. I used my Singer 15-90 for the FM quilting and Davis NVF for the straight stitch quilting. I'm glad this quilt is done.
