I got the baby quilt done for my little great-great niece. I had wanted to get it done before she was born.... it was close. By the time the quilt was shipped, the baby is now 5 days old..... enjoying the picture the mama sent. I pieced and quilted this on my 1947 FW.... I just love that machine.

Nanna, that is so cute. I'm sure she will use this quilt for many many years to come. DH said she is so tiny she gets lost in the stitches. Meaning he likes it too.

Here's the latest doll quilt, which has now reached its new owner in Oregon. The theme was "something I love" so I did butterflies round a buddleia flower.. Afterwards I found out that buddleia is classed as a noxious weed in Oregon. I used the 1927 99K hand machine for all the machine stitching , except for the FMQ, which was done on the 1945 15K treadle.

Nanna-up-north - Such a sweet little baby! She looks so tiny on her lovely new quilt, but she'll soon grow into it!

Trish - What a great way to use second hand curtains!

Deedum - great to see you are hooked on vintage machines. There's no looking back.. Yes, I know that sounds like a contradiction, but everyone here understands.

Muv, your doll quilt is really cute and with all the little extra's you put into it. If a some little girl received this I hope she will be able to keep it to show her little girl one day.

Buddleia in Spring!!?? There speaks a Californian. High summer for us. If we get a summer, that is. It rained non-stop last year, which is why I got so much quilting done!

I cut my buddleias way back this year. With the little rain that we have had this year in California, it will be awhile until I see the first blossoms on my bushes. But when the buddleias do bloom with their pretty blossoms, all the pretty painted ladies and swallowtails butterflies will be there...humm...I'm so looking forward to then. The wisteria is starting to bud and bloom here, and I also have some lavender blooming.

Your butterflies are lovely, simple lovely.

Trish I love the purse! So cute and so springy!

Jean what a cute baby quilt! Elephants are not something I have seen on a quilt! I love it and the baby!

Muv, you do such great work. Instead of a doll quilt why not make that one a wall hanging? It needs to be displayed!
