Pieced with my 1951 Singer Featherweight
I just finished this memory quilt using my 1951 Singer Featherweight. I picked it up in AZ while visiting my father-in-law this spring. The quilt was made for a friend, from her late husband's shirts. I delivered it to her tonight...in time for her to wrap up in, as she remembers him tomorrow on what would have been his birthday. (A lady from one of my quilt groups quilted it.) I love that little Featherwieght...she sews like a dream!
I used Bonnie Hunter's free pattern called, 'Bricks and Stepping Stones'...i love that pattern and it was perfect for this quilt. She told me tonight that as she looks at the quilt she can remember different things he would have said about some of the shirts and things he said when he wore them.

Hispatchwork, what a nice job you did on that quilt.... beautiful. And, it's so large.... the FW got a workout didn't she? I know it will bring a lot of wonderful memories for the wife left behind....... so sweet of you.
