A Rodney for Rodney
Saw this 15 clone at a local antique store this morning and I immediately thought of the one that Rodney found. It had a pretty good price, though I didn't get it.

Finances right now don't allow a lot of frivolous purchases. Sad to say but after you already have a few functional sewing machines any new ones fall into the frivolous spending category. If I see the right machine at the right price I'll pounce so I'm not exactly on the wagon. More like just hitching a ride. Meanwhile I have 2 Singer 99s that need bases, a Touch & Sew that needs it's gears replaced, A Singer model 27 Treadle needing a full restoration on the treadle and a Brunswick I know next to nothing about but I do know it needs new wiring. I've also got 3 quilts going that would like to be finished in my lifetime.
This little pause in buying just means I'm finishing projects instead of bringing more home.

Rodney controls
What is the little chrome dial with a pointer on it to the left of the bobbin spool pin on the base of these machines? It appears to change the height of the feed dogs. How is it used? (I haven't been able to come up with any kind of manual.)

Here is a generic manual for Singer 15 clone sewing machines
https://ismacs.net/singer_sewing_mac...ion-manual.pdf
The dial lowers/raises the feed dogs, lowering some, but not all the way down, for lighter fabrics such as silk; all the way down for darning (and maybe other things).
