This morning I went to rummage sale at the fairgrounds. I saw the case and knew it was a machine. I peeked in the box and saw it was an old singer. I went to check how much they were asking for it. She said how about $5. I gave her the money and dragged it out the door. This machine is very heavy. I get home and start looking for what I have. I am now the proud owner of a electric model Singer 27. Born June 13, 1910. My next step was to see if it worked. Everything moved freely by hand, so I plugged it in. Light works. I press the foot peddle and it runs. Next I find out how to thread it, gave it a little oil. Low and behold, it still sews. How cool is that 101 years old. I don't know what I'm going to do with her yet, as I'm really looking for a FW. What a fun day.

It still sews, WOW

Good score!

I noted that you peaked ... and nabbed it fast before anyone else knew what you had and could tackle you for it!! :)

Absolutely delightful. I love it when quilters find these things and rescue them so that they can be appreciated. Good for you!! :D

Looks like she has plenty of life in her even though she's been well used. Enjoy!
