Santa was very good to me
Christmas Eve day my doorbell rang and there was a co-worker of mine standing at the door with a sewing machine. It was on his brothers porch and they decided to give it to a good home. It is a 201 I believe. Serial number dates at 1939. Turns freely but needs the line side power cord which I have on order from sew classic. Cabinet needs work and I will tackle that in the spring since it is sub zero temps here in iowa. Cabinet top had contact paper which I was able to peel off easily from the main top but haven't done yet on the small side yet. Only one foot but my 15-91 feet should interchange. Cleaned and oiled her this weekend while waiting for power cord to arrive.
Now I was really looking to get a Rocketeer as I wanted a zz machine. Last oct I found one on craigs list in Maine. Now I am in Iowa but my son lives in portland Maine so I told him if the wheel turns for 65.00 buy it. He told me he never got a response from the seller. Then Xmas morning I open a present from him and it is his clothes. All things he needs to be sewn. Then he says oh and I got you something to do that with and gives me the Rocketeer! Complete with case and he got it for 65.00 and it appears to work fine. The seller was touched by his wanting to get it for his mom back in iowa (my son is 26) and gave him the accessories that he was going to list on ebay for free. Standard fare of feet and cams. And a manual thang goodness or I never would have figured out how to use the built in stitches. Sews great and cams and built in stitches work great. Bobbin winding clutch does not work great but will address that later and use another winder.
Now I just have to re-arrange my little sweat shop to make room for them.
