That's a 301, missing some important parts. Price was right though.

That is a Rocketeer, a 503 I think. I looks to be missing only the side door, so it could sew well, and would be worth more than $10.

oh my goodness - I talked to her today!! the face plate is in the cabinet, along with a box of attachments, and the original manual! It has been inside for the last two years, and just in the barn for the past little bit -- they moved. She does not sew, used the cabinet for furniture, but now has a smaller house. Knows *nothing* about sewing.

She told me thirty on the phone - I'll get to look at it (and bring it home?!) tomorrow!

oh, I am so tickled!

the 401a/3, something, in the nice cabinet with the stool - it has been sold.

I did email some of the others, the ones you guys advised me to grab up . . haven't heard back yet.

I hope you get the 99. I love mine, it was the first vintage machine I got and I use it a lot for piecing. I do prefer my 301a for quilting but the 99 is just so cute.

Lara,

When you get it home check the face plate hinges and pegs on the matching places on the machine carefully. I've been told they are prone to breakage. My machine didn't have any broken parts, the face place just wasn't there. So replacing it was easy. If you have any difficulty I'll try to help.

I did I did!! I think it might have a broken 'peg' just like Joe said. It holds it, though.

I am like a donkey - carrot or stick. SO -- I tinkered with Dennis' Stylists some, and I'll make myself finish what I can on those beofre I 'get' to play Rocketeer!! ((I just love saying that!!))
