I think it looks like painted daisy decals which ISMACS says were on Improved Family model. I also don't recognize the cabinet. Not sure it is a singer cabinet. I looks like it might be a later cabinet for a rectangle base machine, not a fiddle base. It's beautiful anyway ...

Its not the painted daisy decal but very similar. The daisy decals are bright yellow and green these appear to be pastel roses. There are a few variations on the design of the handpainted ones ive seen. The csbinet is similar to another one that was in the museum collection ive been working with. Beware that machine pops up vertically and of you are leaning over it you can get hurt!

Id be on that for the price asked!

It's an Improved Family with the Daisies and Leaves decals and I'd LOVE to have it!! The drawing room cabinet is beautiful, and not common...not sure tho if it never had the bottom doors (front and back) or if "they" removed them. Either way, I'd pay that in a heartbeat!

Singer 15-1 or Improved Family. Takes a teeny tiny bobbin that's still available and moves around with the bobbin case which is pretty different from the usual Class 15's. A neat, unusual machine from a mechanical standpoint. This looks almost like a museum quality machine, especially the cabinet.

I don't know much about them, but the cabinet is a parlor cabinet. I just bought a Singer parlor cabinet at an antique store. The cabinet is plainer, and the singer is a red eye not a lotus, but i love it! I need to get a picture posted. The machine posted here is beautiful- i would buy it!

Sewmom, this cabinet is a drawing room cabinet as opposed to a parlor cabinet... not a big difference or a big deal, just a play on words I guess!

I knew there was a name other than parlor, but i just could not think of it! ( i told you I didn't know much about them and I guess i proved that! Haha) what exactly is the difference between a parlor and a drawing room?

Well, I'm going to be in Vancouver tomorrow for a family wedding and I just suggested a small detour to my husband. I've been wanting a treadle ... we'll see if I can squeze it in. We're also picking up my Mom, not sure if that would work if we take the truck ... But I really love this one!

More seriously...the drawing room cabinets have the treadle in the center, the flywheel encased in a side door, and drawers all on one side of the cabinet. These particular cabinets have a spring loaded lift for the machine, while later models did away with the lift because of injury liability. Because they were the "Top of the Line" cabinet for the era, they were more expensive than other cabinet choices. I think I saw something in my research that indicated that the drawing room cabinets cost about $225.00 at the time...

The Parlor cabinets are narrower, with drawers/thread holders, etc. attached to the door that opened to allow access to the treadle irons.

Ismacs has a good page...they call the parlor cabinets "side door" cabinets...

My husband has agreed to take me to see (and get) the this machine tomorrow. I got an email back from the seller, with better pictures of the decals. They aren't daisies, they match the ISMACS picture of "Potentilla", fourth from the bottom on Charlee's link. She also said there was some attachments in one of the drawers and included a picture of them too. I realize that I had bait for this machine to come to me. The old Singer puzzle box I bought at a yard sale for $10 last month will fit this machine ...
