I just brought Mom's machine home after her passing. I learned to sew on it starting in the late '50s.
It is an Admiral model 21620, Universal motor, Brother embossed on the underside.
Can you tell me where to get history and info?
I've worn google out and only seem to find people looking for appraisals.

We need a picture. I have a gorgeous Admiral that looks like a Necchi, but with an Art Deco faceplate and turquoise in the Art Deco trim. It was made in Japan by Brother in the 50s is all I could find out.

I'm so sorry to hear about your mom. What a wonderful memory to have her machine. I hope you'll post a photo of your admiral, and I'll keep an eye out for info. If you know any older sewing machine repair guys, they are a wealth of information.

So sorry to hear of your mother's passing. My prayers and thoughts are with you. I inherited my mom's and my aunt's featherweights and have wonderful memories of both machines in use. i don't thimk my aunt ever used hers. she hated sewing with a passion and was probably given the fw by my grandmother who was an avid seamstress. my mother used the fw any time she could get my sisters and me off it. we all learned to sew very young and loved it. i hope you have warm and loving memories attached to your "new" machine.
