Singer 15K with odd bobbin assembly

This could be original decals, and one in that good of shape would be quite rare - the motor is a conversion though.

It's not a Chinese copy. They never made them with the long beak shuttle. You have a very old, original Singer made in Kilbowe Scotland.
The IF stands for Improved Family. That is the machine that eventually became the 15. Singer started out with IF ( later versions became model 15) and VS1 and VS2 (2 became model 27)
BTW - I think you are posting your pictures incorrectly. I doubt it has anything to do with the moderators, I don't recall anyone ever have that problem before.

DarkVio Happy Christmas
I believe your machine is a 15-22. I have one with exactly the same bobbin winder arrangement. Mine has some bits of the winder missing that I've been hunting for a couple of years now!
It has the long beak shuttle, the tall needle bar & no motor mount boss too.
Mine has clearly been refurbished - the decals are not put on straight!
It sews just fine & can cope with very heavy thread.
Mine makes quite a click clack as it sews - the noise comes from the shuttle area & as mine could really do with a new shuttle I may bite the bullet & buy one. (the same long beak shuttle/bobbin assembly is the same as the model 17 & 18). I only paid £10 for the machine & the new shuttle will cost me £19! LOL

Hi,
Apologies for posting on such an old thread but google finally turned it up during one of my regular searches regarding the bobbin mechanism for one of my machines and this is the one, finally !!!! [ re the pictures above which had been posted ].
I have tried figuring out if I was missing something obvious for loading it and apparently the tip it over really is the only way lol. I have nearly lost a couple of fingers so far with the machine dropping so I shall have to see what I can bodge to take the weight of it properly. I am just relieved to have finally found others with the same type of pesky design !!! [ Mine is all original I am happy to be able to say, bought from a charity shop for £15 ].
I do have two other vintage Singers, currently just found my 1920 version at last [ someone had put it in the garage !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ], and thankfully after a slightly creaky start and letting it acclimatise indoors its working nicely and undamaged, phew ! The other [ 1926 version ], fared less well and might be beyond saving :/
My wierd bobbin one I currently use to repair my horses' rugs so its a tough enough little machine, albeit a complete pain to do the bobbin !
So, hi all, apologies again for using such an old thread but I am so excited to have finally found more out about my machine that I wanted to thank you guys for having posted a thread which has been so helpful to me
