Default Kenmore-

Neighbor has a machine that the needle won’t go up and down. Machine is at least 54 years old, but clean as a whistle. Look at pictures. Does anyone know how my husband can fix it for her? Hand wheel turns but needle won’t move. Any help is appreciated, thanks.-Toogie

It may be in bobbin winding mode. Some have a center clutch in the hand wheel and others may pull out to be in bobbin winder mode. The manual can be found at https://www.manualslib.com/manual/85...30.html#manual
and the page for bobbin winding is at https://www.manualslib.com/manual/85...?page=8#manual

Thanks Janey, in the meantime my husband fixed it. Although the machine is very clean (especially compared to how mine always looks-lol) it needed OIL bad. He removed the top cover and oiled everything. It works/runs so good! Of course, I've been playing on it. I told my husband I am going to tell her if she ever gets rid of it, I want it-lol Thanks for the other info. She probably still has all her books but if not, I will give her these links for it.

My Bernina Artista had that problem and I used the same fix, Toogie!
