Default Singer 201??

Just got this new beaut today for practically free and I looked up the serial number and if I'm correct it's a 201. I'll be so excited if it is!

From the few things I have read about these I've learned they aren't rare (which is fine not really going for rare) and they work great! I'm super excited!!! Now to make room for it so I can use it!

the making room issue becomes a recurring theme once you get hooked on these vintage machines ;-)

our 201 was the goto machine around here prior to getting the actual Singer Industrial 241. The 201 had no issues at all with doing 17 seams that were 12 foot long flat felled canvas pavilion seams. The 241 is a bit beefier and a whole lot faster. (but in truth we almost never sew at faster than 1/2 speed on the 241 anyway.)

Our 201 (along with the Necchi BC, Davis VF1, Singer 15-91, and possibly my Phoenix F treadle) will be at the flea market this weekend, hopefully not coming home so as to make more room for older ones!
