Our local thrift store has one for 4.99

Is it worth it?

Grab it. The 237 is one of the best basic machines. It has the best satin stitch according to many people, and it can also be treadled if you want a people powered zigzag machine.

An individual new presser foot can cost more than that. If it's complete, grab it.
