Default singer 301 longbed

Can someone advise me on lubing the motor for this machine. It clunks when I sews and never been lubed. I see the tube where it should go, however I can't figure where or how to access where the lube should go. Help please.

Do you have a manual? Google will link you to a free downloadable one. The oil and lubrication spots are in the manual.

If the motor needs to be lubed there will be a silver tube 1/4"" long and about the diameter of a round toothpick sticking out of the motor. Not all 301‘s need the motor lubed. If you don't see the silver tube, your clunking noise could be coming from the cam inside the faceplate. If you rotate the hand wheel, you will see a hole as the thread takeup lever moves. Look in your manual and be sure you are oilong every spot indicates.
