[ATTACH=CONFIG]508240[/ATTACH]My 15 is definitely smaller than my 66. I can't find any information on a smaller 15. The metal identifier on the front says 15-. The serial number is AL751859. I got it in a treadle. I've looked on the sites I know about, and done a google search for smaller 15 machines, but come up empty. I don't think they are all this small. I think y'all can see that the 66 is in a cabinet which makes it look taller. the 15 measures 7 inches from the needle to the post and the 66 measures 8 1/4 inches. Can of peas for reference. What's up with that?

Just a different harp space. The 201 has a decent harp space, if I recall correctly.

The 15s don't have as much space for some reason. I've not seen a smaller version of a 15 except for a Japanese 15 clone in 3/4 size or a Cinderella which isn't really a Japanese 15 clone - only sort of. The 66 and the 201 are a bit bigger under the harp. The 99 and the 185 are 3/4 size and not as big.

Like others said, you have a normal size 15 and a normal size 66. Both considered "full size" machines.

If someone told you that the harp size of a 66 and 15 are the same - they were wrong.

I went and measured, and even my fiddle base New Family Singer 15 has the lower arm like the later made 15's (like the 15-91).

Thanks everyone. No, Cathy, no one told me that. I was trying to figure out why the 15 wasn't the same size as the 66 and hard for me to tell in pictures. Mystery solved.

It's one of the trade-offs. I much prefer the 15 for FMQ, however for a vintage machine, it's got a smaller harp than many. Some of my non-Singer machines have a lot of room.
