Default Singer 403a Slant-O-Matic

So, I have a birthday coming up soon and my daughter bought this for me yesterday.Serial number NB673661 and I think she was manufactured in 1959 in Anderson, SC.Her name is Happy and she came with 8 top hat disks, a couching foot, button sewing foot, ruffler and what looks like two general purpose feet except one has longer 'toe' than the other. I cleaned & oiled her when I got home but the only lint I found was under the throat plate and it was very little. The drip pad was as clean as the new one I have as an extra. I love the cabinet because it has such large drawers for storage. Going to try to attach pix.

Sorry the pix are sideways, they were right side up in computer. I think it has something to do with the fact that my daughter took the pictures on her smart phone. Anyway isn't she beautiful?

I forgot to say that the instruction manual had the name of the former owner. The machine was from an estate sale and we got it at the Freeway Emporium in Searcy, AR. Her former owner's name was Rosa Lee. Guess I should have named her Rosa but I had already named her Happy because she made me so happy just to look at her. Now I have two of the best machines I could ever think of having, a Featherweight (her name is Lynn) and Happy.

Ooh... nice machine, and a great cabinet! I'm sure you will be very happy together

Oh, and give your daughter a pat on the back for her excellent taste in gifts!

I have the 401A. Gift for my First Wedding anniversary in 1956. Still sewing on this machine. Sewed for my children, then grand children and now two great grand children. Have made quilts for all of the grands too. I quilt with two groups of friends (quilters too) each week.......... I will celebrate my 84th birthday this year and will still enjoy this machine.............
Happy quilting and sewing to everyone.
