No, I didn't make it over there. It is about 30 miles and it was storming, my dh hates to drive in stormy weather, we are old you know, so I had to pass, I would love to have seen what was under that case. It probably would have been gone by the time we got there. Wasn't meant to be.

Ma'm.....if it's that case u described.....best run for it with that price! Should have a white FW in it.....
That's the only case I know of that color that should belong to an featherweight also called 221.

My other guess would be a regular wooden case with two tone green and white fabric. One of those could have been just about anything. $15 was still a decent price most likely. Just not the steal a FW would have been.

My first thought was a Singer 185, green base and white cover. I think. But that's plastic. Did she say what the case was made of?

It was in a plastic case shaped like a sewing machine case. Not square.

I was at a flea market this weekend and someone had a similar case with a projector.

Maybe that's what it was.

Living at home till 18yrs. we had a singer green machine. It was sold by a door-to-door salesman. Very good machine, with disks that did many decorative stitches. Love the machine! The problem we encountered, when it broke, parts couldn't be found to fix it properly, I think it had done it's time. Very good machine, and well used... How much were they selling for? If ever you see a machine a suggestion someone warned me about, some have damage and owner spray paints over it and it looks good but buyer beware..
