Default Singer Model 675U

Hi all, its been a while since I logged on, but I was hoping someone could help me. I just acuired a Singer Model number 675U, with a serial number TB732923. Ive looked on the Singer site, and no mention of it there.

I cant find barely anything relating to it on the web. I would like to know, if anyone can help, where it was made, is it a Slantomatic, and where I can get a manual for it. Its not working, the inside belt has sheared off, as its belt driven, and so I wonder if anyone knows where I can get one of these also? I would love to get it working again.

Any information, or links would be a great help.

Thanks so much

tweetee,

That's one Singer I've never seen before. I notice the trap door on top, does it use cams, and do you have any? My wife and I have a thing for cams..

Also there is a gal in Australia by the name of Cyndy Kitt who is pretty knowledgeable about old(er) Singers.
Here is her site: { http://www.annebonnyslocker.com.au/ckp/a.main/index.htm }
She might be able to help.

I have 3 of the Singer slant needles machines in the 600 series. Got some parts from SewClassic.com, http://www.tandtrepair.com/600TandSstuff.html , http://www.allbrands.com/categories/684

Default Singer 675U3

Hi,
I've recently inherited the same machine from my grandmother. Mine is in working order but I haven't yet got the different cams/stitches to work.

It is the 675U3 model. It is a slantomatic. I believe it is an industrial machine made in Japan. You can find the approximate date of manufacture on the singerco website:
http://www.singerco.com/support/machine-serial-numbers

This site also offers machine instruction manuals to download(for a fee)
http://www.singerco.com/accessories/instruction-manuals

Some online bookstores also have the instruction manual
http://www.abebooks.co.uk/servlet/Bo...ing%2BMachines

And if you search for 'singer 675u3 accessories' on google or eBay other options come up.

I hope this helps!

Kind regards, V.

Thankyou all so much for your help. I was able to get onto Cindy, here is Australia, who then put me onto someone else in the US who was able to get me the belt I need. I also found out it was made in Japan, in 1960 to be exact. I have the cams for it, and I managed to downlaod a manual for it as well, so with a bit of luck, Ill be able to get it going very soon!

Thanks again for everthing :-)

Glad to hear you are getting on so well. Could you please let me know if you get the cams to work and if so, how you did it!
