I bought a vintage Riccar sewing machine at an estate sale and can't find any information about it anywhere. It has model T-13304 on it and the manual says "Zig Zag". It's a green color, I'm thinking about 1960's - early 70's. Would anyone happen to have any information about these machines or know where I can go to find out more?

Ok someone did move this! Some Riccar machine have a belt with cloth and metal - it can fall apart. It is all I know.

Its very difficult to find information on these wonderful machines. I had one, not your model, it was a real workhorse for 35 years, had 38 built in stitches., even went thru a house fire and came out still sewing without a tune up. I loved that machine, and have looked for years for another like it. Still looking. Stupidly I took it to a Singer Center hoping for a fix and ended up with a Singer and gave the Singer Man the parts and manuals.

Yes, I almost bought a new one in 1968, but then was swept off my feet by a Wards Signature. I do know it was a good machine at the time. We have a store here in Greenville that sells Riccar items and vacuums.

I had a riccar when first married, 1962. I struggled with it for about 15 years. Traded it in for a Singer 778. That is still my daily use machine. I did a lot of garment sewing back then. Did not like the machine, it seemed to always give me some kind of problem. I do not remember what now, I did not do fancy stitches with it.

I know nothing about Riccar except somehow/somewhere I acquired a complete set+ of embroidery cams. If anyone needs them, I can give you a great deal.

I have a Riccar 777 (60's) model that is parts only because it is rusted and froze up horribly. Riccar made sewing machines until late 60's early70's, then the company was bought by a Japanese company. Riccar then dropped sewing machines and made only vacuum cleaners. So it is disheartening to look up your number from your sewing machine and get a hose part for a vacuum!! There weren't many made and fewer still around. What I can gather is that while still in America --Chicago I believe was the head quarters-- they were good sewing machines and parts available. when they moved over seas, sewing machines dropped off and parts were spent. I got this from the Riccar site when I was trying to get mine going.
