She did mean 'free arm'. She had never seen my quilting machine without the extension table, so did not know it was also a free arm. The one she sent me to see, was unusual in the the extension table was a textured green metal, and heavy with a hinge that made the extension about two and a half feet wide with rounded edges. I have never seen a metal one before.

My sister and her SOSE (significant other spousal equivalent) and DH usually send me a text msg w/attached photo and the address. I always tell them get good fairly close photos. Don't forget the price.

Sorry to chuckle but it is funny to me. I can just picture you showing up looking for the longarm and thinking you missed out . Then to have a little school model there instead? She meant well. Gotta love folks that look out for us no matter if they're clueless!

I get weak-kneed at the prospect of adding yet another machine to the herd, so I'm really glad I don't have enablers actively looking. However, I think it's a real sign of friendship that someone would see a machine for sale and think of me, hoping their find would surprise and delight me. That cannot be purchased at any price.
