Don't know anything about it, but for $10.00 I'd have grabbed it and figured everything else later. Deals like that don't always last til tomorrow.

Almost any machine is worth $10. If nothing else, someone is usually looking for some part or another.

"Dressmaker" is not a brand but a model. About 3 godzillion companies made a "Dressmaker"

The VERY first sewing machine i owned was a Dressmaker made by Riccar. It was free and awesome for about 4 years of sewing silk, leather and heavyweight canvas. I made more then 20 complete sets of garb (period costumes) and two pavilions with it. One day it developed a "hitch in it's giddyup" that was traced back to the ONLY plastic gear on the machine. The OSMG nearby sold me a replacement and the factory replacement was metal. It was back to it's amazing self immediately.

I gifted it to a friend about 1 year later (20 years ago). He still sewing with it every week.

BTW, this machine is really what started this mess... I was going to use it as a trade-in for a new machine and the OSMG talked me out of it (thank god). He said I would have to spend over $1000 to find a machine that would do what this one can do. He was correct.

I had a White Dressmaker back in 73. It was my first machine, and lasted until the warranty ran out, over 20 years. It would have still worked, but I didn't know enough to get it repaired. Foolish me.
