You took the words right out of my mouth!! The cabinet is worth just as much as the machine is, and you have a really nice machine!!!
Now if I could only find a 3/4 treadle I would be in tall cotton.

I'll never give mine up.
If you replace it get a Singer 403 or 503 - they can share the same bobbins - those do fancy stitches and they are all metal - they will last for a very long time. The newer machines won't last as long & do much more than the 403 or 503 unless you get into some big money.

Nice looking, and in a cabinet too.....My 99K is a portable and I'm told they are not considered featherweights but are 3/4 machines and will not fit intoa standard sewing cabinet..... True or False????

I love it anyway

Briarberry, if you go to Sew-classic and go to Jenny's blog you will finda whole history of your 99K. It is a work horse machine and perfect for quilting.
I am from Scotland and the 99K was made in Scotland.... that means a bunch to me
Have fun with it and happy quilting!!!

What a great find! It looks just like the ones we used in our home-ec classes when I was in high school. I learned a lot in those classes and always loved to sew, and always got straight "A's". Wish I had sone that well in math. ha ha Good luck in learning to use the attachments. I remember using the ruffler was fun

Nice clean 99, and finding it in a cabinet is a BONUS!!! They are hard to find in a cabinet.

Nice find! These little machines rock. I gave one to my sister (miss modern machine) and she was very impressed with how fast and quiet it was. I have one in the fixer-up line for myself. Funny both of them are in cabinets when those seem harder to find for people. Enjoy yours!

I love my Singer 99. Although heavy little machines, they just purr along so quietly.
