    This deal on the LA Craigslist looks good. It's a Centennial edition Singer 128 with the crinkle finish for $25. It has been out for 8 days, but I just saw it. It is not very well described and the seller is somewhat disgruntled, but for some one in the area, it could be a good machine. Who knows what parts are in that bag after all? Probably has a penguin walking foot or something

    It's about 15 miles away. I just got two new treadle machines with cabinets in the past week, and one is a 127, so no more until I am ready to let one go free from my clutches. I like the bobbins much better on the rotary style machine than I do on the VS so I am passing on this one. I am not a collector exactly, more of a user of machines.

    I like the way my 27 sews. $25 is a good deal for that machine. There's one up here for $40 in the case that is really tempting to me. I'm trying to get the machines I have at the moment up and running before I go too far out of my way for more though.

    I have one like it that I wished someone else had. It was an impulse buy. I just replaced the missing top sliding plate. I just don't like the long bobbins. Mine cost twice what they are asking. I am thinking about donating it to our quilting guild's fundraiser in November. The one in the picture has blackside plates that some collect.

    I just sold a blackside 128 with a nice rounded wooden case for $35. I hope the new owner likes the crinkle finish better than I did.

    Wrong end of California for me but it does match my want for a 3/4 size crinkle machine (or a White 77).
