Default Top needed for a Singer 500A

I bought a Rockateer 500A at an estate sale this weekend for $20, the top is missing, anyone have a parts machine that still has the top? Thanks

Good luck. The weak hinge points were the sore spot of the 500. You'll be very lucky to find one that isn't broken, that's most likely how yours came to be missing.

I have seen them advertised on ebay a few times recently. Maybe check there if you cannot find one anywhere else. Good luck ... oh wait, you already had really good luck finding the machine for $20! I myself have been lusting after one. Missed one locally a while back that was going for $50 so you did really good.

I found one on ebay and then one on bonanza a few months later. Just have patience and keep looking. I have four 500A's and love how they sew!

Thanks to all of you, I know it is one of the first things that fall off of the 500A. It sew really well, it would just look better complete. I am going to call a couple of Singer dealers in the Birmingham area, it is a long shot, but, I will just keep looking.

Is it the full top you need or the "lid"? You can message me if you want.
