Default UK supplier of FW parts?tension bracket

I seem to remember that someone based in the UK who supplied spare parts for the 221 FW used to post on these boards. I have a machine that's missing its tension bracket. Would be grateful for any leads to someone here in the UK, or failing that, in the States, who might be able to help.

Not sure exactly what you mean, but, have you tried Helen Howes Sewing Machines?

Thanks very much - will look them up. The part that's missing is the little discs at the bottom right of the machine that the thread passes through when winding the bobbin.

Graham Forsdyke is probably who you were thinking of. He retired a while back. April1930s now has his website but I don't know who, if anyone, got his parts stock. I think Helen Howes is probably your best bet in the UK.

Try Steve Sutsser at the Sewing Center in Springfield, IL. Tues through Friday. 217-525-7744. He told me he has some 221 bodies. Can't hurt to ask.
