Default white fair lady 'bout to go out the window~

ok-I used to love this machine. I got her like a month ago, she didnt sew but hey Ill fix her .Ill get her going its ok .
Seriously ,I think I feel tears now .first, the back button was "Stuck". so my first thought was oil . So I oiled and oiled left it came back it is still stuck , but now im suspecting "jammed" would be a better term . ok here we go off with her head .I get the top off and push the button and can see its jammed against something (actuating things) lol took the button off , fiddled with the thing behind it ,it seems to belong there I dont know so I put all the parts I took off back on . then my wandering hands started to twist the tension dial while I was venting to my husband about the button . then BOING!!!!
THERE GOES ALL THAT STUFF! dial spring other things I dont even know what .I could you know SCREAM at this point.I HATE messing with tension thingys! hate it I gather up all those things that went BOING across the room . and threw them into the drawer . I hate you ! fair lady my *** wicked witch ! thats what you are !!
Ok an hour later , I came back to it . Oh im sorry I didnt mean it , I got that all back together except the numbers on the tension are off -but thats ok -I know where the tension is I dont need numbers .that can be a problem another day . I got bigger fish to fry so to speak right now . load the bobbin , thread the upper , raise the bobbin , um no ? cant raise the bobbin either ??? youre kidding me .deep breath now I may reach the point where I explode .
So , the first thing I think that I should tackle is why the darn thing wont raise the bobbin thread .
1) it has a new needle
2)bobbin area clean
3) tried every needle placement front, back , left right ,
I *may* not have the bobbin in right , it fits but ,Im not used to the vertical type so , I might not have it in right ?

*before I go further , should I pitch this thing ? Does it have too many troubles? ( I love the way it looks ) Im sure id love it if it sewed
Im really frustrated right now. anyone have any suggestions? please ?

thank you even if there are no replies
at least you guys understand .the husband thinks ive lost it lol

I have the SS white Fair Lady. If the bobbin isn't inserted correctly then it won't be able to pick up the thread. Take a deep breath and go at it again in the morning.

OTBOD,

Be careful, sound as if you are near the edge. There are more fish in the ocean that are easier to catch. Don't let the lady drive you to seek counseling, its much less expensive to replace than pay for counseling!! Really-LOL!!!

The needle threads L to R. In the left side (your left) out the right side. The bobbin goes in the bobbin case so thread pulls off counterclockwise. Hold the bobbin case with the empty side toward you and put the bobbin in so thread comes off counterclockwise. Pull the thread through the slot/niche whatever it is in the case. The bobbin case snaps in - if it didn't click, do it again. Plus it threads kind of oddly but just keep at it.

It sounds like your bobbin case isn't latched in properly. There is most likely a finger at the 1 or 11 o'clock position, that needs to be lined up correctly for the bobbin case to lock in.
I don't think you have anything majorly wrong going on with your machine.
